Our cameras setup for reception/guest well-wishes. They are both sitting atop Manfrotto 561BHDV-1 monopods with Rode VideoMics attached. The D7000 has the SIMA LED light attached as well. Below you see our indiSLIDERMini on its occasionally-used tripod. This photo's quality isn't great since we had to take it on Kyle's iPhone (all our good stuff is the subject of the photo!).
How It All Started
We are a husband and wife videography team based in Gainesville, Fl. In the Fall of 2010, we were sitting in the front row of our cousin's wedding and realized, as we watched the bride break down in tears while saying her vows, that no one was capturing this intimate moment. Since Kyle never leaves home without his arsenal of photography and video equipment, Kimberly immediately grabbed his Canon HD camera and started shooting. We knew how important this moment was to capture, and how much they would appreciate seeing their ceremony later, as weddings are often a blur for the bride and groom.
After the ceremony, we decided to keep the camera rolling and put together a little video for them as a wedding gift (our first highlight reel!). We had no idea the video would be such a hit. Kimberly posted it on her personal wedding blog, Gator Bride, and a few weeks later we received an e-mail from Jen, a Gainesville bride, asking if we'd be interested in shooting her wedding. And so, Gator Bride Videography was born.
We are so thankful Ryan and Jen took a chance on us and booked us for their wedding. Without Ryan and Jen we wouldn't have realized how much we really love capturing weddings. Plus, we were incredibly lucky to have such a fun couple to capture for our first wedding. They sure know how to party! Thank you Ryan and Jen for being our first clients. :)
How We Work
On your big day, we think the bride and groom (that's you!) should be the center of attention, that's why we like to stay very low key. No big lights, or large camera rigs, no all black attire, etc. We even hook up a lapel mic to the groom so we don't need to be up close and personal to capture your vows. Plus, no one wants a camera in their face during such an intimate moment! There is no script so we don't need to direct you... we simply capture your wedding as it unfolds.
And, with every wedding we shoot, no matter what package you choose, we will always capture your wedding in it's entirety. So, if, before your wedding, you can only afford our first package (just the highlight reel), but after your wedding you decide to use some of the money you received as a wedding gift to purchase additional edits, we'll have all your footage ready to edit! This also allows couples who are only purchasing our highlight reel option to purchase the raw footage and edit it themselves. As we know, many couples these days are quite tech savvy!
